Proud of her NH roots, carries an artistic versatility and fervor to create and express life experiences through movement. Her career path has afforded her a multitude of opportunities to choreograph, teach, and perform throughout the U.S., Vienna, Costa Rica, Belgium, France, Japan, and Armenia.

Joyce established JKing Dance Company, (JKDC), in 2008, self producing four JKDC seasons at The Ailey Citigroup Theater - The Joan Weill Center for Dance in 2012 - 2015, receiving press acknowledgement. It is through these performances, King offered young emerging dancers the opportunity of rehearsing and performing along side the company.

She is a recipient of the BUILD grant, The Field Artist residency and awarded Top Audience Pick for choreography at Dixon Place/NYC10. Additionally, Joyce has been commissioned to present work as part of special performances at Florence Gould Hall, DIXON Place, Symphony Space, DNA, Merce Cunningham Dance Theater, Pinkerton Academy Theatre Arts, Palace Theatre, DerryField, Dansstage Dance Festival; Auditorio Nacional and Teatro Eugene O'Neil Theaters in Costa Rica. Commercially her work has been presented as part of NYC Fashion week - Louis Vuitton’s Life is A Journey’ and Style Pointe Fashion and Dance.

Joyce was interviewed live on the televised program, ‘Good Morning Armenia’, and ‘Yerevan Today’, to speak on JKDC’s history, creative process and performance at HIGH FEST followed by teaching her ‘DramatiContemporary’ workshop.

She has been on the NYC Jazz faculty at Joffrey Ballet Trainee Program, Joffrey Jazz and Contemporary Summer Intensive, Contemporary Jazz faculty at Steps on Broadway, children programs at School at Steps, Guest faculty at Broadway Dance Center, and on the panel of adjudicators for NH Youth Dance Festival and the Jazz Choreography Enterprises, Inc.

Performance highlights include Cats - at the prestigious Theater an der Wien, A Chorus Line, Fame, Benefits for Broadway Cares; Michael Jackson Sportswear, Industrials with choreographer Lynne Taylor Corbett; Boston Opera’s Aida and Die Fledermaus with choreographers Sam Kurkjian, Graciela Daniele, and original plays directed by Doug Hall. Concert dance - King had the joy of working with and performing original works by Adrienne Hawkins, (Impulse Dance Co.), Danny Sloan, Fred Benjamin, Richard Levi, Lynn Simonson, Miquel Lopez, Bruce Taylor and Ron Forella.

Her extensive training extends from dance under the direction of Suzanne Taylor - Michaud, Boston Ballet - Virginia Williams, Boston Rep - Sam Kurkjian, and Hartford Ballet, in NYC with the very influential Michael Owens, Lynn Simonson, Michele Assaf, Richard Levi, Fred Benjamin; acting with Charles Kakatsakis, Sally Johnson and by invitation attended the Oxford Summer Shakespeare Intensive - London England; voice - Frank Kubik.

She continually explores ways to share her experiences nationally and internationally through master classes, workshops, Summer intensives, and dance education programs. Click to have Joyce teach or choreograph for your university, college, studio, or event.
